Alexandra Labbé ready for the 2025 election campaign

PRESS RELEASE

September 19th, 2025 - Chambly

Alexandra Labbé prête pour la campagne électorale 2025

Mrs. Alexandra Labbé is delighted to begin a new election campaign, filing her candidacy on September 19, 2025. She adds: "I approach this campaign with great optimism and am definitely driven by the energy of the citizens. Many have expressed their support since the announcement this spring. The respectful and constructive dynamic of the current City Council, as well as the exceptional work of the municipal administration, are among the motivations that drive me to seek another term." She is confident and forward-looking, and has received the green light from her doctors.

95% of the commitments included in her 2021 platform have been completed, and the rest is well underway. Once the post-trusteeship situation was well restored, Ms. Labbé was able to spring into action, proposing a sustained pace of investment to effectively meet the needs of citizens and address the significant backlog in the maintenance and upkeep of our collective assets. This represents 16 renovation projects over the past five years, 42% of which were subsidized. It is also important to know that the work is being completed on time and, above all, within the estimated budget.

In addition to a solid track record of completed projects, Ms. Labbé has successfully implemented a change in organizational culture. The benefits are felt in our relationships with external partners, employees, and local organizations, as well as in our regional outreach. A new citizen-focused approach, improved service quality, predictability, and rigorous planning—there are many reasons to confirm that the City of Chambly is in good hands. Among the first municipalities to adopt a developer fee system, Chambly can now count on a new source of revenue. From the very first real estate projects, more than $5 million has been invested in the quality of life of residents, thus reducing the impact on the tax bill.

"Despite the continued pressure on municipal finances, we have managed to keep the tax rate for Chambly families 24% below the average for comparable cities, a real feat. I want to maintain this efficiency, continue the work of diversifying revenue sources, and ensure that Chambly residents benefit from quality services. I will therefore present a concrete and comprehensive program for the next four years, which will be communicated to residents in the coming weeks. I look forward to discussing its content and improving it through meetings and the feedback I receive," she concluded.
