• Invest $1 million annually to maintain and repair our road network and continue our efforts to ensure pedestrian safety at intersections, around schools, and in residential neighborhoods
   

• The new fire station will increase the presence of our firefighters and first responders in the community thanks to their availability 24 hours a day, year-round
   

• Open up the golf course area and transform Boul de Périgny for seamless integration of all needs
   

• Improve access to collective and active mobility with the arrival of BIXI bikes

 

We have optimized emergency call response with the first responders service, as well as the modern boat to intervene on the basin. We must now ensure that the growth of the Richelieu St-Laurent Police Department allows for the return of a REAL, FULL-FLEDGED STATION to Chambly.

• Find funding sources to carry out the projects prioritized in the master plan for parks, green spaces, and sports infrastructure and close the $110 million backlog
   

• Add a synthetic field and work with neighboring towns to ensure that the sports offering meets our needs
   

• Replace our outdoor pool with a modern aquatic facility
   

• Respond to new trends and emerging leisure activities: pickleball, pump track, wiffleball, fat biking, etc.

We have renovated more than ten parks and green spaces that were in dire need of it. We will soon open the doors to a vast regional sports center. We have created the largest park in our history, the Parc naturel des Ruisseaux, which is a true lifeblood of our community. Our next challenges: reforesting the PARC NATUREL DU BASSIN on the former golf course and improving our nautical center and access to the basin.

• Consulting citizens of all generations: seniors, parents, and young people to update our family policy
   

• Supporting more than 1,300 volunteers working in the community
   

• Developing tools for communicating with the public: Espace Chambly platform, social media, local newspaper, special reports, and newsletters
   

• Facilitating access to meeting and socializing places by making them available, lively, and friendly

We have multiplied public consultation initiatives: advisory tables, youth council, citizen cohorts, surveys, participatory workshops, consultation meetings in different sectors, and participatory budgets. I suggest holding A MAJOR ANNUAL CITIZEN FORUM, a meeting for consultation.

• Increase the supply of social housing to meet growing needs
   

• Protect the quality of life in our neighborhoods by ensuring proper integration based on their purpose and built heritage
   

• Maintain our support program for owners of heritage homes and our efforts to enhance municipal buildings
   

• Preserve our agricultural land by focusing on the thoughtful use of vacant spaces already well connected to our infrastructure networks

 

The many challenges of creating new housing require us to demand the best projects in optimal locations, while respecting our capacity. This responsible approach includes traffic studies, upgrading our wastewater infrastructure, planning the modernization of our drinking water supply, and protecting several hectares of natural and agricultural environments.

We have:

• Responded to more than 700 calls annually with first responders service, saving lives and preventing significant property losses
   

• Restored three heritage municipal buildings thanks to our new professional support program and generous grants, and supported numerous listed homeowners in their renovations
   

• Acquired approximately 1 million square feet of woodland to potentially expand the parc naturel des Ruisseaux
   

• Received numerous awards and recognition for our support of volunteers, our cycling network, our public participation initiatives, and our innovation in recreation
   

• Deployed a diversified cultural offering inside the Pôle and on our outdoor stages, supported by a brand-new, contemporary, and inclusive cultural polic

• Maintain our tax rate below the average of comparable cities in the region, ensuring strict control of expenses and debt
   

• Strengthen our ties with business and community stakeholders, including by using the Joseph-Ostiguy building
   

• Support the development of local jobs with exemplary support for our businesses and strategic occupation of vacant spaces in our territory
   

• Plan infrastructure investments to catch up on the maintenance backlog, including those of parks, buildings, and our streets; finance them with government subsidies

 

We can count on a NEW SOURCE OF REVENUE with royalties on major real estate projects that have generated more than $5 millions in two years. We have everything in place to maintain the investment pace of the past five years, with 16 renovation projects completed for a total of $35 million, 42% of which is subsidized.
